Yay, btw - LOVE that fabric!!!!!!  That's for the wedding right?

Yes, I want to do the long table with that fabric and  the cake eally missing my mom the 8th was her birthday and boy was she crafty. She would make these for me with no problem. As you can see I have non of those skills. I can organize it but sewing it or making it that would be a no.

Hello ladies! I'm here!! DH is watching the game right now and I might make popcorn and join him in a minute.

We've had some unexpected expenses come up this week so it looks like we're in for a tight rest of the month. Which is fine, but since the family thanksgiving out here got cancelled I'm not sure we can afford to do anything ourselves. =[ I was gonna make a mini thanksgiving for the two of us this year but I think its gonna end up being some classic $5 college-student dinner. Yay for our first married thanksgiving.

So I'm a little down this weekend with all of that - it looks like its gonna be a cheap do-nothing weekend for us. Maybe we will find something fun to do together. I hope!

Sorry to hear that is there anything I can do? This is your first married Thanksgiving, How wonderful is that!! What do you and your husband like to eat. The ladies on her and myself can show you how to have a great meal on what you have. What do you have at home already?

Oh Jan, we'll be fine! I'm just a little cranky about it. Its just the two of us so I might just buy a small crock pot turkey or something. We have gravy at home and bread and some canned fruits and veggies. We also have some eggs I think- I could make some deviled eggs. We might have green beans so I could make some sort of simplified casserole. I'm sure I can throw something together but it won't be anything too special.

This is the first thanksgiving I have ever not lived close enough to my immediate family to have thanksgiving with them. It was lucky that when we moved we moved by DH's extended family and could spend the holidays with them, but thats not happening either.

I know this isn't what thanksgiving is about - and I am very thankful that I even have DH to spend it with! I'm sure no matter what we end up doing I will have a wonderful night. Even though it isn't working out exactly as I had hoped. =]

Chelsi - I'm so sorry to hear about your change in plans.  Ditto what Jan said.  Maybe we can help you find some recipes with what you have already at home. (((hugs)))

Jan - wouldn't you just have to do a hem on the edges?  I don't do much sewing, but I could research what you would need to do to create what you need.  : )

I do understand when things get tight from what you have just stated you will be fine. Under the sercustances you are doing just fine. You and DH together that is the true meaning of Thansgiving being together loving and being thanful for what you have. And you are doing just that.

I'm just popping in here to check things out before heading to bed. My daughter is going to play the song I walked down the aisle to on her violin, but we cannot find sheet music for it anywhere. Well, tonight she's been watching Youtube videos of other people playing it and paired with listening to it she's almost taught it to herself with no sheet music in a matter of two hours. I'm such a proud Mama!

@Chelsi - I know it's hard to have holiday's with just the two of you, but that could make it more romantic and special. =) Also, I noticed while out and about today that Dollar Tree has tons of holiday goodies. I was surprised to see the french fried onions there, as well as graham cracker crusts and canned ready made pie fillings. I hope you have an amazing first Thanksgiving as a married couple.

@Jan - I really love floral fabric and that blue color is amazing! I so look forward to seeing your wedding pictures!

@Becca - Hey there! Have I mentioned how much you brighten my day when I see you on the boards? =)

Oh Chelsi, it's horrible when things don't work out like you have in your head. A little turkey for 2 would be lovely - maybe instead of thinking about the food you could focus on the evening itself - candles, a playlist of special songs, just a night of being thankful for eachother??
