Do you hate when people think that all nurses do is clean up poop?

OMG people have no idea what we do - get used to it - it never changes. Even DH doesn't really know the bulk of it - they would literally have to spend a shift with us to even have a vague clue!

i honestly didnt know all the stuff i would need to do as a nurse because i never really spent much time in a hospital (i did work for a blood bank for a few years though).

fi dad is a peds nurse so fi doesnt think i work hard. as if!

ya...but I just keep it my little secret about how much we do. :) I dont believe in karma...but I know that EVERYONE will need a nurse at LEAST once in their life..and at that time, they will realize how much we do and how much we impact the quality of their lives at that time.

yea...there are still some of those out there!  I find ther'ye becoming fewer though.  I think we're becoming more and more respected.  I once got into a conversation with a patient about nursing being a "profession."  He was trying to say it was not.  i gave up!
