Hey Ladies! I just wanted to vent for a minute.

I stopped BC in January after 10 years, never got AF.  Went to GYN Feb 22, she said give it another 3 months if nothing come back. She said to temp every morning and gain some weight. They weighed me said I was 97 pounds, I'm 5 foot.

Fast forward 3 months: Never got AF, nothing. So I went back to GYN May 6 - She gave me a prescription of 50 mg Clomid to take for 5 days then keep temping to see if I ovulate. She also weighed me - I weighed 95 *SIGH* She said "I told you to gain weight and you lost 2 pounds". I am not kidding, I have been eating whatever I want all the time :(. Dr said to come back at the end of the month.  Fast Forward to Today: I never Ovulated and still have not gotten AF = My Frusturation, we are TTC but its IMPOSSIBLE to get pregnant if I never Ovulate! UGH!

I have an appointment on Tuesday to go back and I'm so frusturated and I know she is going to weigh me and I haven't gained anything. (and honestly its not a weight thing, my mom was 90 pounds when she got pregnant with me, we are just tiny people. I'm always around this weight) I was thinking about doing accupuncture... I'm just SO frusturated! =(

Were you diagnosed with or tested for PCOS??  Have they tried (or mentioned) Provera to kick-start AF?  I'm surprised they would just give you Clomid if you haven't had a period in that long.  I'd call and ask some more questions... and then I would maybe consider getting a second opinion if your Dr. doesn't seem to be receptive.  Some just don't seem experienced enough with Fertility issues.  I'm sorry and hope you get some answers soon!! *hugs*

So sorry you are having to go threw all of this :( ((((BIG HUGS))) Ditto what Allie said I would definitely go for a second opinion...

Sorry you are going through this - I haven't ovulated either, so I completely understand your frustration.  3 rounds of Clomid and NADA!!

How long have you been TTC?  If you have the ability to, I would go to an RE.  I don't think she should blame your situation based on your weight - if it is normal for you, you can't do that much to control it.

Plus, like Allie said you should be taking Clomid after your doctor has induced your period - she shouldn't give it to you and just tell you to start taking it.

Also...just to let you know, I looked into Acupunture specifically for TTC and would be happy to share with you what I learned (I made a post about it on the boards).  Feel free to ask me any questions you may have since we have similiar problems such as not being able to ovulate.  I can give you advice on what kind of monitoring they should be doing etc....Anyway I can pay it forward from all of the wonderful ladies who have helped me out!!!

I asked her about PCOS. But she said I didn't seem to fit the norm. I have done blood work for thyroid everything was fine. I'm assuming she is going to give me provera on Tuesday.
Yes Cat please! I would love to know more about acupuncture. I made an appointment today for next Monday 6/6.
What can I expect? What's going to happen? Will it really help? It's so expensive! Is it worth it?

But did she run your hormone levels to be sure?  If not, I would demand to be tested for PCOS.  Just because you aren't overweight it doesn't mean you don't have PCOS- you definitely have other symptoms! :)  I'm not overweight and have it.  And my Dr. said when I came in I didn't fit the typical physical description, but he still ran the levels and sure enough it was PCOS. :)

Yeah you need to have full blood work for hormones too.  My doctor didn't believe I had PCOS because I don't have any physical symptoms besides a missed period and no ovulation.  But my testoterone level and ultrasound prove it.  There is of course a chance that you don't in fact have it.  There are women who don't ovulate but don't have PCOS.

As far as acuptuncture goes, it is very expensive like my earlier post said...I think almost 50 - 75 a session and I needed to go 3x a week. Also they have some sort of acupunture that is super super expensive and they compare to something along the lines of a natural IVF.  She also wanted me to come off of all of my meds because my body temperature was all out of wack.  Right now, I am at the point that I want to exhaust all of my options via the medicine route.  If that doesn't work I will try all of the natural options like acupuncture before I do other things like IVF.  I am going to try and find that thread I did about it...It has been awhile, so I need to refresh my own memory :)

Oh and I do think it could possibly help.....The lady I met with was a friend of mine and she is extremely knowledgeable.  If she wouldn't require me to come off of my meds, I would def. do it.
