My fiancee and I are aiming for a 2014 wedding. We'd like to have it sooner, but I really, really, really want my dream wedding. I'm marrying my dream guy, so my dream wedding is almost non-negotiable. My mom keeps saying "Just get hitched at the courthouse, and the spend the money on a nice reception for friends and family.", but my mom doesn't seem to understand that I don't want to get 'hitched', I want to get *married*. Anyway, I'm getting off topic. My fiance makes 12 bucks an hour, and I make even less than that, and we have our son to care for. So we're allowing two years and then some to save every penny we can, and we're going to try to do some fundraising in addition. A lot of our friends are musicians, and the rest of our friends are between 22 and 29, so we're going to do a 'benefit concert' next summer with a few local bands, and probably a keg or two, and charge admission. Beyond that, I can do Christmas craft shows between now and then (last year, two of my pre-decorated trees went for $250 apiece!), and try to get friends and family to donate baked goods and have a bake sale. Any other fundraising ideas would be greatly appreciated, but I really need some outside input, this 'thinking cap' is frying my brain. = /
