Getting my dress to Las Vegas.... :-/

Well ladies, I have two weeks until the wedding, and 11 days until we catch our flight to Las Vegas!
I'm currently having an anxiety attack because 4 months ago I was told it would be perfectly fine to carry my dress onto the plane, and now I called to double check and the woman said she didn't recommend it. The dimensions for a carry on MUST be 10x16x24 inches. Even if I fold the dress (already in the garment bag) in half, it's still too big. I'm going to have to stuff it in a suitcase I guess. Has anyone tried to fly their dress as carry on recently through Southwest Airlines? Or know of anyone who has?

could you roll it, and stick it in a small duffle bag as a carry on? rolling reduces wrinkles and you can usually get something smaller doing it that way. i would try every possbile approach to make it carry on size! good luck!! (and obv take it to the cleaners when you get there to press it!)

I agree with Kplusd rolling might make it smaller... and Ditto on getting it pressed to get any wrinkles out.

yes agree..and i believe every hotel there have a services..they can pressed it for you..i got married there..and i only paid for the pressing of my dress..

I didn't do it through Southwest, but I did through US Airways! The website said the same thing about the dimensions, but I did it anyways after researching what other brides did. I've heard of the rolling too, but I didn't even attempt it. All the attendants were super nice and let me hang it in a closet up front. One of our flights I was able to hang it in back of first class, which gave it more room, instead of being squished. It will definitely need to be steamed or pressed!
