getting vendors to call / email you back

How do you try to get vendors to contact you without reminding them so much as to drive them crazy? My list of MIA vendors include my church pianist, florist, and DJ. I don't want to go bridezilla on their a**es but I want to give them their deposits and sign the contracts.

Here's an example of how bad it is: On April 27, my MC said he'll send his contract to me in a couple of days. I've emailed him three times since and my coordinator has called him too. Still nothing yet. This has been going on since fall of last year when I asked if he could MC my wedding.

Two weeks is kind of a long time. My initial reaction is you should start looking for another MC. For the other ones, I think if you give them a week and then email or call if you haven't heard from them after a week.

Yeah, I agree w/ Janet. If you are already having a difficult time before booking this person, imagine how hard it will be after you book to get a hold of them.

My church pianist just called me half an hour ago. Yay! Finally. Now I gotta work on the other two.

I always have a hard time getting in contact with my florist >< They prefer that I call but the time difference makes it impossible to do so! I'm still waiting to hear from them about an enquiry I sent on Sunday.

What annoys me the most is that the other florists I chose not to go with have been so much more attentive with emails and getting back to me on time.. it makes me wonder if I went with the wrong one @.@

whoa, my florist just emailed me back. maybe they felt my negative energy? anyway, kathy, i know what you mean about other vendors being more attentive. i chose to go with vendors that offered me the best prices and it looks like i got what i paid for. good luck!

now i'm waiting on just one more...

Wow, that is totally unacceptable. I always email my brides or return their phone calls within 24 hours! Even if I am super busy, I always acknowledge that I received their email or phone call.

I rang my florist and got in touch with her! Turns out she forgot to hit "send" on her email.

All reconfirmed and got my final quote so that puts my mind at ease :)
