Looking for some ideas of what to get as gifts for the bridal party... what did you give your bridal party?  What have you been given when/if you were in a wedding?  How much did you spend per person?

My favorite gift was handmade by the bride it was a necklace with a butterfly pendant. This probably cost between $5 and $10 to make, but maybe 3 or 4 hours of work. So, it meant a lot to me!

I gave sterling silver necklaces to my girls because I did not have a lot of money to spend 20 years ago. They were $20 gifts. I was only just 19 when we got married. I also did not have a lot of time. I planned my wedding in 2 WEEKS!

I think the gift should reflect your relationship. Showing them how grateful you are is a gift. Not being a bridezilla a bigger gift. I would generally say a $20 to $25 dollar gift for the MoH and a $15 to $20 for a BM would be appropriate. You may have a much larger budget.

As a MOH I spent 3K on my BFF's wedding shower.I had the money at the time and I wanted to give back to that family. When I was growing up I was in a horrible situation and they helped me and her father took care of me so often and paid for various activities that this was my way of giving back. I bought my dress and my shoes. She gave me a stained glass ornament. Again, it had to do with how grateful she was. A small token gift made me very happy. My kids were also in her wedding and I paid for their tux rental and flower girl dresses, one for the rehearsal and one for the event.

I'm still thinking about what to get my girls but I can tell you what I've gotten as a BM! For my one friend's wedding, she got us all of our jewelry for the wedding, our shoes, a cute little clutch purse, and a picture frame. I thought those were all great gifts. My other friend did jewelry, pictures, and a jar of "happy thoughts" where she wrote down a bunch of fun memories on pieces of paper and put them in a mason jar (super cute idea). I think it's nice to do something useful and something that shows how much they mean to you!

I think a great gift would be something that represnts the girl.

An engraved bookmark for the one who loves to read $10-$30

A new charm for her pandora bracelet for the fashonista $30+

Movie Theatre tickets or DVD and microwave popcorn for the movie buff $10+

Gift Cert for Sephora for or other favorite store

What about a Girl's Day at the salon? Nails, Pedi? that sort of thing? We go to the Beauty Academy for our girl's day it is just as lovely and really inexpensive because it is a student.

What about writing a a few momories down in a memory book and adding some photos of you guys together. This is both thoughtful and a real treasure she will want to look back on.

For the person who always coos over animals when she sees them in those sad commercials how about a gift made in her name to a shleter in her area?

Hope that helps!!!

I think something handmade will be great. Or a gift card for movies, manicure, pedi something to pamper them.

I bought cute gift bags from Target that were in the wedding section. Inside for the girls were:

A clutch

Jewelry. Necklace, bracelet and earrings.

Sleep Mask

Monogrammed Glass

Bottle of Moscato

Snacks

Bridesmaid T-Shirt

The guys got Socks and Flask.

Think that's it. Pictures in my bio.

I helped my girls pay for their dresses, made their jewelry and gave them DIY sugar scrubs.

I was only ever in one wedding as a BM and all I remember was the jewelry! There could've been other things; I just don't remember them since it was a long time ago!

For my BMs, I made them earrings, bought them a necklace, gave them each a $25 gift card to a store that each of them personally liked (each was different), and I gave them coconut lotion, body spray, and a candle to bring in the beach theme, and a small bottle of sweet white wine :)

For our GM, my groom had the great idea of getting them all steak packages from Omaha Steaks. They all got a nice bottle of red wine also! They loved them!!!

We really wanted to thank them with special gifts, so we ended up spending about $100 each; but we only felt it was right since they spoiled us so much with all the wedding planning, gifts throughout, buying dresses and tuxes, and everything else!! They were great to us, so we wanted to give them great gifts :)
