I just got batches of pictures from our friends & family. Now I want to clean it up and do some photo editing. Any good photo editing software? Free software will even be better. Let me know.

=( that's a trial version tho. I'm part of the Bank of Being Broke Club after paying for a wedding. =) I need to justify the cost of software.

try photoshop express.  it's still a beta version.

In March of 2008, Adobe announced Photoshop Express, a free online service for storing, sorting, editing, and showing off digital photos. Although it is not as rich in features as the desktop software Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, it is a legitimately free way to use Adobe Photoshop technology.

There's free open source software similar to photoshop called Gimp.

Fair warning though: it's quite technical and not user friendly at all.  I learned to do the basics with it by reading some web tutorials on it.

Here's another online photo editing site, run by a guy I know.

Photoshop Elements is one way to go, it's significantly cheaper than regular Photoshop, but it's a start. I'd really recommend getting the full version of Photoshop. It's completely worth the investment in my opinion simply because of how powerful it is. If you're on a PC, talk to any friends who are tech geeks, they should be able to steer you in the direction of getting a free crack version. I used illegal versions for years and never had any issues. PM me if you'd like some help.

It's totally bad of me to recommend this being a graphic artist by trade, but I feel that software is horrendously overpriced. A friend of my mom's works for Adobe and her employee price for Photoshop is $75. (no, I can't get copies for everyone. ;-) Sorry if this breaks any rules, but it's just how I feel about it.

Also let me know if you want some pointers in Photoshop, (if you decide to get it) I've been using it for years.

Good luck!

You might also want to try Picassa, it is free. I have had good experience with it and very user friendly. I can't compare it to Adobe though!
