Happy Puppy- I mean Super Bowl.... :)

I've been using the test line OPKs since December and I really wasn't sure if I was ovulating or not (I have PCOS and those lines are not easy to read) my OBGYN said to get the smiley face ones since they are easier to read. So I started using them late January to try them out. I got all negatives.

The OBGYN said that I should ovulate the week of the 12th this month. The smiley face test directions said to use it on the 5th day of my cycle so after using it for awhile and getting negatives I used it on the 5th day of my cycle and I got a positive OPK.

So my question is, anyone of you girls get a positive OPK during your period? My OBGYN said its plausible but still wants me to have sex the week of the 12th. I did have sex yesterday since I got a positive on Friday just in case it really is a true positive.

It is possible to have a Lh surge without ovulating so I would follow your dr's advice but the month I concieved I ovulated on the third day of my cycle. Unfortunately that pregnancy didn't work out but it is possible to ovulate during your period

I am not sure who - I want to say it was Kristen_Tater? - she got a very early +OPK and it eventually went negative but she was temping and did not see a temp rise to confirm O - she kept using the OPKs, got another positive a few days later and then got her temp spike to confirm her O.

Lots of things can cause you to start an LH surge and then your body backs off, only to surge again later in the cycle and actually O at that time.  So it is possible that you O'd early like KWoodrn said, but it could just be an early LH surge without an O, too....

It's hard for me to test with the basal temp because I blast the air on every night and I am usually freezing cold right before I take my temp. Also my natural temperature is 95-96 degrees so I can only guess if it reaches 97 or 98 then I must be ovulating. But most mornings I'm 96.69 and freezing.

I don't know if the air conditioner is affecting my basal temp.

The night before I got a positive OPK result I had a crazy insane sense of smell my DH couldn't believe it. I was able to smell the plastic scent from the ziploc baggies on the dining room table. They smelled HORRIBLE and my DH was only able to smell them once he put them directly under his nose. I read that heightend smell is a sign of ovulation.... But again who knows!!

I will be taking my OBGYNs advice and ill be having sex every other day from now until past my expected ovulation date. DH sure is "bummed" about that! LOL
