we're using Reelife entertainment - they were great so far to help us customize exactly what we wanted and not pay for things we really weren't looking for - they also helped break down the cost to 4 installements which makes the cost more manageable.

We went with "The Visual Element Video Productions"

He was one of the only people that actually listened to what we wanted rather than tell us what we wanted:)

I am torn on this topic -  I REALLY want a videographer BUT I can't justify the cost. How can I get a cost effective (say $500) wedding day video??? Or am I just crazy asking?

Amy - I am wondering the same thing...my MOH's mom suggested contacting Mac Univerisity as they have a  media studies program and students are always looking for extra cash. I'm going to try Ryerson too....We really can't squeeze much more into our budget :(....but I really want a video!!!

That's a GREAT idea miss_em!! Let me know if you get anywhere with those and I will do the same for you. Maybe we can both get an awesome video for cheap :)
