Guests standing during the ceremony rather than sitting

Any of you seen wedding ceremonies with the guests standing? I guess I'm liking the idea of not having to rent chairs for a specified number of people.

I've recently decided just this weekend that I want my wedding in San Francisco in a museum or a gallery type venue. I've been researching a few online and I came across a photo of the Asian Art Museum's Loggia staircase and I'm now wanting something similar to this:

However after checking their rules/regulations, the AAM is not allowing certain things I would like for my wedding. Not to mention they're pretty pricey.

Any of you ladies know of any other venues (in SF) that can have the guests stand or know of a unique way/idea that will allow this w/out everyone struggling behind someone else to watch the ceremony?

Ooh the Legion of Honor is REALLY pretty, I thought about it for my wedding.  Its like this wonderful blank slate you can decorate anyway you want.
