Chantel did a good job on my makeup. Take a look at my e-pics in bio. She took her time with the consultation, and definitely made sure to ask me as she was going through what I did and didn't like. She was open to changing
anything I didn't like, and even gave me a few tips on how to reproduce the look she was doing. Because I wanted to try a few other artists, I waited too long and she ended up booking another bride for my day, so I won't be using her and will be doing
my own instead.
I also had a makeup trial with Cynthia Sally (highly recommended on the Knot and she was pretty cheap). I, however, would NOT recommend her. She called me the morning of to bump my appointment up because she double booked it.
Fine, no biggie. Well, her next appointment showed up about 15 minutes into my consultation. As a result, she totally rushed. I was out of there after 25 minutes, and looked worse than when I came in. She didn't put
eyeliner or mascara on me, and my lashes were white because of the foundation (airbrush), so I looked really tired. The colors she used were all wrong and made me look really shiny in pictures. The makeup lasted about 3 hours tops, and to top
it off, I ended up with a stye the next day.
For hair, I go to a place called Touche in Libertyville for my regular haircuts. My girl - Chellee Jones, is fantastic. My girlfriend is also a stylist, so she is doing my hair for super cheap. But, if you're open to going to a
salon, Touche is a great place. Otherwise, I can get you Chellee's number if you want her to come to you.
