Belhurst Castle is beautiful in Geneva.

My reception is at the Elmira Country Club close to home...beautiful ballroom with neutral colors!

I love Glen Sanders and The Desmond!  Of course, I love the Century House b/c that is where I am getting married.  The Franklin Plaza Ballroom is gorgeous but was out of my price range! :(

edit: venues are located in the Albany area.

The State Room in Albany was beautiful (our venue) but I love the Desmond as well!

Our wedding is going to be at the Lakewatch Inn in Ithaca, NY.  It is a beautiful renovated barn with a loft for extra seating.  The great thing about the loft is it runs the perimeter of the building and is almost like a balcony so everybody seated up there can still see what is happening down below.  Essential with a 300 person wedding....oy vey!!  LOL!

I looked at Mallozzis, Glen Sanders, Hall of Springs, Highlands Castle and a few other places. I chose the Glen Sanders Mansion because it seems that they perform up to their reputation, 5 star service, and the price was unmatched with the quality and level of service that they provide. Since I have contracted Glen Sanders Mansion the representative has been great with everything. It's along the Mohawk river and very quaint as well as rustic and timeless. It depends on what type of setting you're looking to have for your wedding. I love it. I currently live in florida but my mother and her side of the family all live in Scotia.

Hope this helps.

P.S. If cost is a factor their Friday night weddings are cost effective and wonderful. I ended up choosing a Friday because my fiance is being relocated for work a few weeks after our wedding and Friday was the only date that they had available. I snatched it as soon as possible. At first I was upset about having a Friday wedding but it provides the opportunity to enjoy the next morning with all of our friends before we leave for our honeymoon. It also provides our guests time to get back home or take a long weekend.

I agree with Leah, we had our wedding at Glen Sanders Mansion and it was amazing.  We had a Friday night wedding and this helped us to save some money.  I also looked at Turning Stone casino, but I really did not like the sales rep Alan that I was working with.  They were just not accomodating like Glen Sanders was.

Also Hall of Springs and Canfield Casino are both AMAZING!  Just very expensive and hard to get a date if you do not plan early!
