Haybales for ceremony

Has anyone ever done this?  Ive seen beautiful pictures.  What does a haybale usually run? 

I have those exact pics saved Rebecca! They are beautiful! I'm not sure what they run, but my mom has bought them for Halloween decor before and I believe they are pretty cheap. However, pretty as they are, they may not be so practical and you may run into some issues like:

1) some people (like myself) are allergic to grasses and hay...I'm not as bad as I used to be, but my throat would get itchy and I used to sneeze like crazy when around hay or fresh cut grass...also if I were to sit on it I might get a rash...(sneezing is probably not something you want to hear while saying "I Do"...so if there is anyway you can find out if any of your guests has this allergy before you decide to use this idea, do it!

2) Hay is kind of poke-y...so use thicker blankets to lay over top, not something thin (like a sheet.)

I am doing this for our ceremony!!!!!! But we are using straw square bailes instead of Hay. I am also going to be putting white towles down on each spot for extra comfort. I am getting mine from a coworker so they are free for me.

How are you getting strawbales from a coworker? LOL

I was going to use them in my wedding for next year cos my fiance and I decided to go with a Western theme. At a local Arts and Crafts store, they can run $5.00. In NJ, we have a lot of stores along side the road where you can get flowers, plants, like an outside Home Depot or Flea Market. That's where we found 'em.

The last time I had to pick up haybales for a friend they were $14 each.

When we buy them for our dogs for winter (straw) I want to say they are about $5. My coworker did this we have a lot of farmers where we live so she was able to get them for free as long as she hauled them away. She also had other options for people who needed actual chairs or couldn't sit on them because of allergies. 

I wish I would of done this! I think its a great idea for a cute little country wedding!! <3

I will see if I can find the picture that inspired me to do this. I live in North Dakota so they are everywhere. My coworker happens to have some in his barn.

As for buying them, I just saw a post on facebook where someone in my area is selling them for $4 a bale :)
