So FI has 10 groomsmen and I have 6 bridesmaids... do any of you have any ideas how I can arrange a head table for the reception?  More than likely we'll be using rectangle tables - and all I can think of is a U shape...

I think a u shape could be really nice

Have you given any thought to just having a sweetheart's table for the two of you, so that your bridal party can sit with their "sig others" or are you allowing their dates at the head table too?

I was going to just have the wedding party at the head table - no sigs 'cuz there is already so many of us! The sweetheart table is a good idea, the venue has some smaller round tables available.

Or if you are like me, and don't like the idea of a sweetheart table (I will sit with just him for the next 6o years if all goes well) then you could consider a "modified" sweetheart table where it would be the two of you and your best man and maid of honor and their significant others. Then the remaining members of the wedding party could basically sit wherever you want them to in the room, either all together, or with the significant others, or spread out around the room.

Just a thought!

That's a good idea too because I just know that my MOH will have a serious pout if she can't sit by me (can't blame her though - she is very self conscious because she has to be in a wheelchair and on oxygen, poor girl is not even 30 yet).

Im doing a 'Kings' table- it will be huge I believe 18 ft long by 5 ft wide? It will fit up to 20 people.  I know its huge but I think it will go great with our theme, decor, and fill up the huge reception room we're in....

You could also do a sweetheart table, and on your left have your GM at a regular table and on the right BM or just mix them up?

You could still do the typical 'row' look but since you have so many you could do 2 rows? (they do that a lot at my recep venue....)

- HMM :)

Kings table:  You can do what ever size needed though... I just love the grand look and not so 'bridal party' looking, you know?
