Hi Ladies,

I haven't been around for a while due to a family bereavement and now I'm a bit behind.

What I would really like to know is what information did you send out with your invitations?  I'm planning on sending out pocketfold invites and I really don't know what to include other than the ceremony details.

If you could give me some suggestions it would be really appreciated.

Thank you

Louise

I would include accomodation. Are you doing the ceremony at a hotel? Or is there a certain hotel you would like everyone to stay at? You  can call the hotel and book a block of rooms for your guests, if so. Then include that info. Are you having a reception? Is it at the same place as the ceremony? Include that info. Here is a sample of what was on mine:

Pack Your Bags
Get Out of Town
Head to Vegas

You Have Been Invited to Share Our
Happiness as We,
Sarah Armas
And
Glenn Swindell
Unite in Marriage
Friday, the Fifteenth of October
Two Thousand Ten

Reception to Follow

The Tropicana

I also included a business card size card with info on the room block at the Tropicana and of course the response cards, but I kept it pretty simple

I'm sorry for your loss.

Here is a website that has some good ideas for invitation wording: http://www.invitationconsultants.com/samplewording.aspx?p_subcategory=203

I'm sorry for your loss.

Definitely include reception information, even if it's just to say reception to follow.

On the response cards, you may want to include meal choices if you are having a sit down meal with 2 or more choices.  we're also including alcoholic versus non-alcoholic toast for the champagne, so we'll be able to estimate the number of bottles of each.  We can't afford an open bar unfortunately, so that is an easy way to estimate how many people are going to be drinking alcohol and what we can offer in the way of signature drinks.

Another important detail: include an contact number - possibly a bridesmaid or groomsmen (so you won't have to deal with the calls on your wedding day) cell phone number for emergencies.  I would include this on the business card with the room block information.  Unless you have a small guest list, the chances are good someone is going to do their "own thing" by booking at a hotel they think is cheaper or whatever and then getting lost trying to find the ceremony and/or reception.  And if you aren't having the ceremony/reception in the hotel where everyone is staying those chances increase.

Hope some of this helps.
