This is our kitchen:
We currently have concrete slabs with a runner of carpet on it as our flooring...

Apologies for the poor lighting, my phone photos come out so bad... it's MUCH brighter than that in real life.

We've decided on Amtico flooring - it's strong and hardwaring... it's got a great guarantee on it and most people swear on it.

This is the floor colouring/design we've chosen:

However it can be laid out in 2 different ways.... these are the options:

Option 1:

Option 2 (the flooring pic on the left):

Which do you think would be the best layout?

The kitchen is small so I'm worried that the "tiled affect" will only look good in a large room because there's a lot to play around with.  I have a feeling it will eat more into the room rather than give it the "spacious" feel.

But I'm not so sure if it would look nice with the whole floor being just plain and one big piece?

Thanks Ladies!

Hands down this one ... I agree that it will help keep your kitchen looking more open and larger.  I think seeing how many tiles there are, plus the grout, will make the space look smaller.

I don't think it would look plain.  When I envision it I think it matches the streamlined look of your kitchen.  Plus you wouldn't have to worry about scrubbing grout on your hands & knees!

Ditto Amanda -- I think the one she chose would work better in a smaller space!
