HELP- Online flowers? DIY?? - Indianapolis

So I recently got a quote from a florist and its a lot more than I was planning for.  All I am needing are bouquets, corsages and boutinnieres. I have talked to a few people about DIY bouquets and ordering online, but it makes me a bit nervous.  Has anyone tried any of the online website or know of any florists in the Indianapolis area?  Any advice - dos or donts would be much appreciated!!

Sam's Club.  They have everything from orchids to carnations. Go there!! You will be very pleased!!  If you have a Sam's Club in your city...go check out the flowers.  Good luck!!!

I've heard wonderful things about Sam's Club/ Costco flowers. Also, if you really feel like saving some money you can always do real touch silk flowers. Look them up! You can't even tell they're fake. It will especially be nice if you have some guests that have allergies :)

I DIY-ed all our flower arrangements.  You should first find your inspiration, once you are set with that, print a copy of it and bring it to the store - Sam's Club or Michael's craft store.  We have Michael's in our area and I bought all the flowers from them.  I also got married in the Fall and Michael's had a good selection of Fall flowers. 

Take your time when purchasing the flowers.  Try to complete one arrangement first to see how you like it, if you do then just continue making them.  Don't be scared with the trial and error, you'll love it.  You still have a lot of time.  I didn't start making them until probaly end of July and I wish I had more time. 

I did our centerpieces, ceremony flowers, bouts, BM's bouquet, my bouquet, pumpking card box (had some flowers on it) and my FG's flower box.

I've heard good things about fiftyflowers.com however it is tricky ordering it at just the right time. You would probably have to keep it in some kind of cold storage if you get it several days in advance.

thanks so much for everyones help!  Has anyone used angelsaccents.com or wedideas??  I'm thinking about maybe going the real-touch silk route but didn't know if anyone had experience with a company??

My sister lives in Indy and found a florist that I think is resonable.  She is getting her bouquet, 4 BM bouquets, 4 corsages, all the bouts for less than 1k.  I am not sure if the florist is good or not but she did talk with my sis and tried to find out her vision and said they would work to get the vision she wanted in the budget she needed.  PM me if you would like the florist name.  I could get it from my sis.

My sis's wedding is in Oct too so hopefully it's not on the same date cause I think the florist only does one wedding a day.

Don't forget to ask your venue if you can store your flowers in their walk-in fridge. I just happened to ask where to put my bouquets beforehand and she told me that I could use the fridge at least 3 days before!! 

P.S. I am going to use Sam's, Costco, or fiftyflowers (perhaps all 3!!).
