Hi ladies! Need help here! I LOVE LOVE LOVE pictures, but am completely a newbie when it comes to photography. I have a friend who is getting married at the end of the month and can't afford a photographer, so she asked me to
do her pictures. I've fiddled around a bit and done some outdoor family portraits, etc. for friends that I've posted on FB...which is what she has seen and said she is impressed with. However, I hardly know what I am doing with my
camera...I feel like I have been just lucky capturing what I have been able to, at this point. Needless to say, the pressure I am putting on myself to do a crash-course learn of what I need to know to do some decent pics for her wedding is making me
CRAZY. I have a Nikon D40x that I inherited from my brother. I really only know how to use it on auto. I have the basic AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm 3.5-5.6G II ED lens. Since she is getting married in the evening and I HATE the
flash, someone suggested I get a better portrait lens - a 50 mm - F/1.8? Can anyone direct me to specifically what I should purchase that doesn't require any manual focusing, etc. and something that I could use decent without a whole lot of
knowledge on my part? Oh, and budget is a factor - I don't want to invest a ton of $. ANY help - in plain English :-) would be appreciated!
