Help Venue Hunting: The Sequel

You were all so helpful when I asked for tips previously here.

We've since decided that a City venue would be best since a lot of guests will be from out of town and it'll be easier for them to stay in the City.

So the dream now is to find a venue (1) in the City (2) with a view, and (3) small enough to not dwarf a party of ~60 people. Overall budget is about $15,000 (for everything).

Things I've looked at:

1. University City Club

  • FI loves it, but I was hoping for something more modern.

2. Hotel Vitale

  • Awesome terrace for ceremonies, but it's not quite working out in terms of dates.

3. Westin St. Francis

  • The dream! But food & beverage minimum alone is $15,000.

4. Intercontinental Hotel

  • Waiting to hear back from the catering manager.  They have smaller rooms that could fit our party.

Did you check The Fairmont SanFran?  Rina Mae had her wedding there at around 70 guests and it was gorgeous for a small wedding!  I think Jennifer Skog has posted all her detail pictures on the blog already.

Fairmont will run you over 15k.

Is it only inside the city that you are looking at?

Thanks! I actually was looking into it and PMed her to get their contact info.  (Going through their website hasn't helped me).

And welcome back! :)

Not sure if this is something you're interested in but SF City Hall has some sort of package for $4k for ceremony (which would be GORGEOUS because you get the rotunda space!), but then you'd have to find something else for your reception that's a bit scaled back.  Just a thought =)

I know you said city, but have you also tried Stanford University?

I looked into the Stanford Faculty Club and it didn't really appeal to me. I'm not aware of anything else on campus where you can host a wedding. Is there something I'm not aware of? :)

I can try to find out.  We had some TTD photos done over there and it's such a gorgeous campus.  Have you heard from Intercontinental yet?
