Help with kitty bedtime!!

My cat Mulan is 2 years old.  Up until 4 months ago we had another cat for her to sleep with, so there were no problems!  We had always kept the cats out of our room at night & they didn't seem to mind.  After we had to get rid of her kitty friend :'( she is devastated if we lock her out of the room at night.  She dug up our carpet under the door trying to get in one night & since then we have let her sleep with us.  She will not stop "playing" at night though & we are fed up!!  She attacks our feet constantly until like 2 am!!  I think she sleeps all day when we are at work & so when we are home she just wants to play.  Anyway, last night we locked her in the laundry room (because there is no carpet to dig up) and she is just crying so loud & scratching on the hardwood.  I couldn't bear it & had to let her out, but I just don't know what to do.  We really don't want to get another cat right now (it was too hard to stay bye to the other one!)...so I need other suggestions.  We need to do something because we need some decent sleep soon!  Any suggestions are appreciated :)

Can you bring her a quiet toy in your bedroom so she will play with that instead?

My cat sleeps all day when we are at work and she plays all night. I've tried to change her schedule unsuccessfully. Sometimes I can hear her running up and down the stairs, but she rarely comes onto our bed. She plays with her plush toys filled with catnip (no bells or anything to make extra noise). She looves the pink one below.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try.  She use to bring a toy up on our bed during the night & play with it up there :/  I suppose that's better than attacking our feet but it still woke/kept us up!  I will def try a catnip toy because that usually calms her down... thanks!

How did it work out?

Well she was better, but eventually attacked a little :/  For like 15-20 minutes she just laid on the floor with the toy/catnip & I was totally thinking it was going to work!  It was much better than normal though :)

Pablo and Chuy (especially Chuy) are banned from our bedroom at night... I'm a light sleeper, already have serious insomnia issues, and they bother me all night long if I let them in my room.  Chuy licks, kneads, love bites, nuzzles me, and he sounds like a freaking pigeon when he purrs it is soooo loud!!  GAH!!  I would try toughing it out for another week or so, keep her out of the room and try to do something to drown out the noise she is making.  Eventually she'll get the point and stop doing it.  Our boys still sometimes meow and paw under the door, but they know I'm not going to let them in so they only try for a short time and then it's over!!
