She was supposed to come next week. I am really bummed that I have to clean my house this weekend. I can think of tons of other things I would rather do.

I use the same service as my dad uses; it's usually a different person that comes every week but they bring all their own equipment and they do a really great job.

I know some people are worried about theft but the way I see it, a service that's been around for a long time is in the business of being trustworthy and dependable. If they had a person who stole, they could lose their business, so they're really careful about onyl hiring people who are bondable and qualified.

I tried a service once-- and they stole $20 from my drawer!

I dint, but be careful. Fi is a insurance guy (kinda complicated title). well, she ONLY leaves mondays from 1-3 to volunteer at a church (she older) well, someone backed into her garage, disabled the garage door, and loaded up all of her valuables. It was as if they had cased the place. (one day she had noticed her closets were cleaned??)...turns out it was her house cleaning service...they had known the tv was broken so they didn't take it, they only took the jewlery and money, the safe in her closet, collectables that dont look like they are worth anything, but were. I felt so bad for this lady

My dad's used them every three weeks for the last 5 years and he's never had anything stolen (and he's the kind of guy who leaves $20s in his drawers); I've never had anything taken either. That really sucks megegers!

I love our housekeeper!  Honestly, I just posted on Craigslist in the Domestic Gigs section.  I typed up everything and I mean everything that I wanted done and sent it to everyone who applied for the opportunity.  I found out that by being so specific, I could weed out the people who really wouldn't work out.

After that we narrowed it down to a handful of peole and reqeusted references that we could check up on.  In my experiance, people who are willing to do all of that to get a housekeeping position are really going to be willing to do the job.

Hope that this helps!

Spring that's a good idea. I'm going to check C-list.

do you guys ever "pre-clean" before your cleaning person comes to clean? lol. like if you have stuff on the floor or papers on your desk/coffee table.

I have a cleaning lady come once a month, and she is a family friend so we know she wont steal from us. She does an awesome job. I wish I could have her come more often, but I know I need to be cleaning myself, plus I count it towards my excersie. lol

I do "pre-clean" before she comes, but mainly just pickup.
