HM Help! Napa Wine Country, CA

FI & I are trying to plan our HM and need some help on where to stay.

Whats the difference between and suite and B&B?

Does anyone have any recommendations - dont want to spend anymore than $300-$350 a night.

Depending on when you are going it might be at the higher end of your price range, but the rooms are big and the area is REALLY cute! There are some nice restaurants within walking distance, too.

do you mean a suite in a hotel? or suite in a B & B?  both tend to be larger than the average room; since B & B tend to run smaller spacewise for the room, a suite in a B & B will probably give you a large sitting area (maybe even a separate sitting area), nicer view, etc.

We just got back from our Napa mini-moon! We stayed at the River Terrace Inn, which was reasonably priced and in a good central location near downtown. 

I'd much rather be in a suite or regular hotel than a B&B.  As my FI likes to put it, "B&Bs are the picnics of lodging - they sound really romantic, but you inevitably end up with people stepping on your blanket and ants in your food." 

That aside, we went to Napa about two years ago for a long weekend and had one of the best trips of my life.  We stayed at the Meritage Resort and Spa and it was PERFECT.  It's south of Napa and out in the middle of vinyards.  They have a wine cellar, bocce court and hot tub that are all very worth-while and they run a shuttle into Napa itself, so we just parked our rental car once we got there.  They also had an amazing concierge who hooked us up with the best driver ever.  (KEY when you're doing wine tastings in Napa as it is no fun fighting out DUI to begin with and in Napa, there are nine different jurisdictions, which makes it less fun).  He knew all of the free vinyards, took us there for tastings and stopped so we could load up with snacks so we wouldn't be drinking all day on an empty stomach. 

The whole trip was really fun and really romantic and it puts a smile on my face just thinking about it.  You guys will have a blast, no matter where you stay!

It just depends on what you require...suites are great of course, your hotel has a ton of amenities etc.  B&B's are very homey...and quite romantic, however, idk about on a honeymoon because its basically a house with a bunch of rooms. Do you want all your neighbors to hear you DTD? LOL. Talk about awkward when you come down to breakfast the next morning and you are greeted with a wink and smiles. hahaha. 

That is the one thing I'm not hip on with B&B's.  I mean...I LOVE the homemade breakfasts...stuffed french toasts..pancakes etc, but you have to mingle with like 8 other people at the same table and make small talk. Kinda like a cruise and I'm not into that.  I just want privacy for me and FI.

If you're a chocolate fan (I'm not, but the candy there is THAT good) go to St. Helena and go to Woodhouse Chocolate!

If you're a foodie, go to Olivier next door for amazing olive oil/vinegar...mmmmmmm my favorite!

Eat at Hurley's in Yountville- not an inexpensive option, but delish!

I stayed in Yonteville at a Villagio - it was super adorable, had an amazing breakfast (included) every morning.  Also, if you stay in Yonteville you can walk to so many cute restaurants - we loved Hurley's!  Also, my FAV vineyard was Rubicon - we did the tasting and it was the BEST food/wine/education ever - highly reccommend it!
