I use Oil of Olay, too! Ever since I can remeber I have used their moisturizer.
I usually have oily skin and in the last couple of weeks it is like an oil slick. Here is what I use and the dr and midwife both said it was ok. I can
sometimes feel acne building under the surface but nothing erupts and it fades after a few days.
Cetaphil cleanser - 2x/day
Oil of Olay moisturizer with spf for normal/oily skin - 2x/day
Astringent maybe 2-3x/week (does not have acne medications in it) I think it is Nivea.
This seems to be doing the trick for me
and before my bfp I DID have a tendency to break out if I didn't work to keep it under control. This routine is pretty much what I was doing before except I eliminated the benzoyl peroxide I used to use every other day and replaced it with the
astringent.
I hope something works for you!
Here is something I found on the APA website:
Pimple Breakouts and Acne:
What is this? If you have a problem with acne already, your acne may become more irritated during pregnancy. The extra hormones in your body cause your oil glands to secrete more oil, which can cause breakouts.
What can I do? You should keep a strict cleansing routine. You can start with a simple over-the-counter face soap. It is a good idea to use fragrance free soap to avoid nausea. Cleanse your face every night and every morning.
Washing your face more than this can cause your skin to be dry. Next use an astringent to remove any remaining oil. Stay away from any acne medicated astringents; they may contain acne medicine that may not be recommended for pregnant women. Finally,
follow this procedure with an oil free moisturizer. If you find that you are having problems with acne consult with your health care provider on acne
treatment during pregnancy.
