Hello everyone, I have a little issue that I thought maybe you guys would understand and maybe help me get through. As well as being a bride next year, I am also my best friends matron of honor this year for her July wedding. Yesterday, at the last minute, she gives me and the other bridesmaids the dress choice. Now she is a high fashion woman, awesome taste, HOWEVER...this dress is going to look a HOT MESS on my plus size figure! I am a size 18, my dress was ordered in a 24. I am very hippy with a tiny waist and I am 5'4". The dress color is red with a gold shash. I just know I am going to look AWFUL!!!! Here is the dress. What are your thoughts???

You sound like you're shaped like me...you'll rock that dress! It sucks that she didn't let you pick out the dress you wanted to wear. I chose three dresses that I liked and let my girls pick from those...it just lucked out that my BM chose the same dresses and my MOH chose a different one. I'm guessing the dress may be a little long, so see if the seamstress can bring the bottom up from the gold sash giving you a bit more skirt and probably more comfort as well.

That is an odd dress. I think you'll look fine. Just find a good seamstress to do alterations if any are needed. I think with your tiny waist and larger hips - it'll actually look very nice. Now, on me, that dress would look like a hot mess because I'm big everywhere and in the past 6 months my waist has disappeared (under a lot of spare tires).

I am hoping I look good because all her girls and tiny!!!! I just wish for her July wedding she didnt just tell us the style and because it's so close we had to rush and order them now to get them by June. In addition I am planning my own wedding and the added stress sometimes can translate into added pounds...lol

I'm also in a wedding next year for my MOH, but luckily she's taken into consideration the body types of all the girls in her wedding party. But she also knows what it's like to be a big girl (she had gastric bypass a few years ago). Everything will turn out fine and I bet you will look THE BEST out of all the girl in the party...that dress needs some curves to make it look hot.

As long as you don't have a flabby tummy (like me) You'll look great in the dress. Get some spanx and you'll be awesome! Have you seen Christina Hendricks? She is VERY hippy and looks amazing in that style of dress.

I would get some spanx that will help and it you are uncomfortable with your arms like me, maybe you can ask for a wrap or bolero

Thank for being so supportive! I did order the seamless hour glass slip and the no slip strapless bra from fredricks!! Just to make sure my belly and love handles are a smooth and possible. The no slip bra is AWESOME!!!!! I jumped around it is and it really works!

i actually really like the dress. i am looking for a bridal dress like that. i think it will look good

Hello ladies, I just wanted to let you know that by Thursday I will have pictures up of me in this dress. The first fitting went...well... but I really can't wait to see it after the seamtress does her magic.
