My "Wifeys in the Kitchen" group is slowly getting more and more active. We have about 180 members now, and about 4 new threads starting each day. It's not a lot, but definately more than when we first started the groups. I plan to make a post similar to this one each new month, so I can see the progress the group is making.

The Philly/Eastern PA is slow... but we only have a handful of ladies on PW, so that is to be expected

But I would like to see what would happen if we removed group membership; I think posting might increase! It would be nice to watch just a few that you truly care about, but others, I would just like free posting kwim?

As it was pointed out in the main forums that people don't want to post in the groups b/c of the limited responses they get.... however if they are unwilling to use them then they are continuing to limit the responses of someone else's post, truly a catch-22.  

so true-definately a catch-22. I think it would be great if we kept group membership, but you didn't have to be a member to post. That way, it would be the best of both worlds. You could easily keep track of your favorite groups, but I think posts would increase like you said

Mine are not doing well ..... Ive noticed most groups are pretty slow with the exception of wifeys and the "trying to Conceive"  .... Even when I post in my groups to try and draw attention  to them  in the "latest group topics"  corner  they usually get immediately buried by the continual posts in the TTC group

Ditto Neicy. Although my new group "Asian Brides" is gaining some interest..I've noticed some brand spanking new brides on there :)

My new group (Photography enthusiasts) is actually doing pretty good.  We have 26 members already and it's only a week old.  I'm excited to be able to share all the cool stuff I've found...we're even trying out bi-weekly 'assignments' to get everybody out and shooting.

My one and only group (Addiction & Alcoholism) is really slow. I think we only have 8 members. It is a touchy subject and an embarassing subject for a lot of people. I'm just hoping that one day it may help someone.

I find pretty much all the groups are slow except the ones mentioned above as having a lot of action. I think people either don't know about them, don't remember them or even just don't get a fast enough reaction so they continue to post in the main forum.

I still think we should have a notification system like for PMs for the groups.  That way members will know when a new post has been made and take you to a list of the threads with new posts.
