I used the bridal march for my processional, and a lot of people said they loved how I had it played by a guitarist. In my opinion there's something so much more graceful about it that way than an organ, and my guests agreed = )

Our recessional song was "I feel good" by James Brown and everyone LOVED it. As soon as it came on the crowd burst into laughter and applause. I loved how it set a fun mood.

What about you? Did you get a lot of comments from your guests about your music chocies? What did they love?

I walked down the aisle to a former violin student of mine playing "Ashokan Farewell" with a classical guitarist accompanying him.  People told me they went and downloaded it that night.  :)

Wildfire I would have LOVED to have seen/heard that!

I had three of my private students perform - two songs I wrote for our ceremony.  People loved how 'personal' that was, even though it was FAR from polished :)  These poor kiddos had NEVER done something like this before, and were not my 'strongest' students (but rather ones I really connect with) plus it was windy and they were nervous.  But they LOVED it. . .something they will never forget doing :)

awww  ...I love this post  :)

I got a lot of compliments on my processional .... I used a pianist named Robin Spielberg's version of Unchained Melody .... I wasn't sure people would recognize it until the end because it is even slower than the original ... some people did ask what it was and I told them and then said "Its the first song on your CD favor "  :)

Also -  "one Hand One Heart"  from West Side Story was a hit for the Unity candle ceremony .... this decision was made well after the CD's were made and there were apparently a few that were sad it wasn't on the CD's :(

I also got a lot of comments about the dance music starting with oldies and "graduating" into the newer louder , bassier music ;)   .... I got a comment from one girl who said by the time the hip hop started she was just tipsy enough to dance without caring :)  .....  and the older folks appreciated the opportunity to dance early on
