Hey ladies! We find out the gender of the baby on October 31st and are so excited! We plan to tell our parents before anyone and my Aunt is having the family over her house on Halloween for dinner and for the kids to go trick or treating.... We thought that would be the perfect opportunity to announce it but I am finding out that some family members won't be able to make it.... I would love to see everyones faces when they find out but it is getting difficult to get everyone in the same place at the same time.... Do you think that we should just tell everyone over the phone?

I've toyed with this for awhile now...

Since it's Halloween.. I think you should do something fun and Halloween related :)  Like... Maybe get some taffy apples and tie ribbon around the stems??
Hmm.. That sounds kinda lame but delicious!! HA HA

I love what Josh and Anna Duggar did! They were the ones actually finding out the sex, when they cut into the cake it was pink on the inside! :)

We found out on my mom's birthday (DH was with me when we found out).  My mom lives in UT so first thing I did was called her and said "Your grandson says happy birthday." Everyone knew we were finding out and couldn't wait to hear.  DH sent his mom a text (she was at work).  I called my dad.  I sent my brother a text that said "You were right.  Are you happy?"  We called his dad... All of the other fam members got a text that said it was a boy (they all live out of state or were in school).  A few other people got the phone call... then we both posted on FB.  I would have loved to have done something fun and together, but everyone was just sooo spread out and anxious to know.  I think most were more anxious than I was. :)

Don't stress over it.  Tell whoever you can at the party and call everyone else.  Maybe get or make shirts that say "it's a _____" and fill it in before you go. :)

We just blurted it out lol but I wanted to announce it, Jason spilt the news too fast lol! I put it on our blog right after so everyone knew.

One thing I liked is when the couple sends out a belly pic postcard- and you right "Its a Boy" or "Team Blue" or you can do something creative like take a belly pic holding the blocks that says boy or girl.  You two holding a sign that says it, etc.  That was everyone will get the news and a cute pic!  Its cheap too- you can do those ones like we do for"chistmas", kwim?

Or for the people there you can have a clue- have them open it up or a boy or girl outfit wrapped?

My sister had the Dr right it on a piece of paper and put it in the envelope- so she didn't even know!  She had my mom open it- you can do something similiar? That would be a suprise for you guys too!

~ HMM :)

Thanks for the suggestions! I could send out a cute card like Jamie said.... I think it would be fun for everyone to stalk their mail boxes for a few days :)

I think it would be cute!  Don't tell them though- surprise them with it!  Do you need ideas or inspiration pics?
