How long Dating before Engaged

Hi ladies :}

I was just talking to my friend that just got engaged and she asked me how long was I dating my FI  before we got engaged. Me and my FI dated 6years before he proposed. My friend had 3years dating her FI.  Now I want to ask you ladies.

 How long were you guys dating before getting engaged?

Well we were engaged (to ours and our closest friends knowledge) about 3 months after we started dating. There were some events that happened where getting engaged was the right thing to do, but when said events went South, we decided to hold off on telling anyone until New Years of this past year. So, REALLY 3 months, but to everyone else it was about a year and a half. 

We were together for 2 years before we started talking about marriage, though we were together for 2 1/2 before he officially proposed and bought the ring.  

5 1/2 years

A little less than 2.5 years

We were together for about 1.5 years :)

1 year, but we stayed engaged for like 3 years after that, ha!

1 year, but we'd been friends for years before that

5 years

DH proposed on our 3 yr anniversary!
