Hi Ladies, just trying to get an idea of pricing for videographers.  How much did you pay and what did you get?

I would guess that the price on this would depend upon the area where you live.  I'm in the NJ/NYC area and I have seen prices starting at 600 ranging all the way up to 2000.

This was one of those things that I hadn't budgeted for (didn't realize how cool it would be to have at the begining of my planning) and once I started looking was expensive!! Luckily I found an awesome deal from someone's who work I was really impressed with!! I got 7 hours (2 hours before the ceremony to get all my "getting ready" shots as well as footage of the ceremony and reception site, and then the actual ceremony and reception), 2 videographers. i think the actual footage was a highlight reel set to music and then a 45-60 min dvd. I get 3 blu-rays and 2 standard dvd's for $1700. This was an awesome price in my area. I can't wait to see the finished product!

ETA: I am in Southern CA

I'm in the SF Bay Area and I've been quoted upwards of $2,000 for 8 hours of footage and two blue ray DVDs and only one videographer. Granted his work is amazing but he's in the lower end of the quotes I received and it doesn't include a highlight reel.

Yes, it's expensive!! About $2000 for top quality is prob average.

Ask DansMrs about hers, she got a great deal in the Bay Area!

I paid $500 for mine, but it was his first wedding! So that came with a little risk invovled. lol. (I will post the link in my bio when I remember! :D) but, it kind of depends on what type of quality you're looking for!

We had an offer for 700 $ only for the videographer for a high quality video (HD quality). We also paid 1000 $ for the photographer. But we ended up not book him as my Cousin made a video from our wedding day as a gift.

Thanks Elise, I'll check with her. I enjoyed your highlight reel you posted after the wedding. You got a great deal.

Once again look into students who have a solid portfolio and you could get a lot more for next to nothing. They need referrals and you want something you had not planned on and you could end up with more than one if you use students so better chances of getting what you want.

I have hired students and most of the time it has only costs me between $50 and $100.

I will be doing a winter photo shoot with a student and I don't have to pay a dime except for what I want printed.
