All this talk about the cost of BM dresses is making me worry. I don't want my BM's to have to pay anywhere near $300 dollars (dress + alterations), not even $200+ because they will all have to travel to be here for my Wedding, which includes their accomodation costs as well. All but 1 of my BM's live in Canada and I was thinking of having them order AA dresses through whatever store they choose, that way I could visit the AA store out here and know what they are getting into....if that makes sense. I selected AA because I was under the impression that these dresses are less expensive, but I don't know what "less expensive" means anymore. Does anyone know how much they range from? And if anyone has any other suggestions for less costly dresses that my BM's could order from a salon or something in Canada?

My BMs paid $125 for their Alfred Angelo dress.  I believe most bridal shops will give you a discount (ours gave 15% off) with the purchase of multiples of the same dress.

My BM dresses are Alfred Angelo and I don't think that any of them are over $200.... Mine were $136....

See okay *phewph*......I just never looked into it and I was thinking that's how much they were. Bling, I just saw the pic of your BM dress in that one post, and I was looking at those too, and now I know how much they are...thanks girlie!

I really looked into Alfred Angelo dresses and did lots of research. I found the best online prices were at plussizebridal.com, but they still seemed too pricey for me...there was one style that started around $80 but most were in the $130 range. I ended up finding an awesome sale going on at Nordstroms online...got all 5 dresses for $35 each with matching shawl, they all had the same dyelot and they look beautiful.  They'll still need alterations, but I feel so much better that they don't have to spend a lot. They're having a sale right now...it looks like a lot of them are 50% off (http://shop.nordstrom.com/SR/0~2376776~2374327~2374331~6014164?mediumthumbnail=Y&mode=pfind&tuid=5ac8a3da-c3a2-4a79-9a40- 46ccfcd02a6e&catID=6014164&sort=5&searchorigin=ProductFinder&findertypereqd=N) and so is JC Penny (http://www2.jcpenney.com/jcp/X5.aspx?DeptID=50434&CatID=56292&cmCatLevel=4&seq=&dlEventTarget=&PageIndex =0&ResetClicked=False&Sort=price%7cPRC%7cTrue&newSort=true&CmCatId=50434|50444|56292).

Also, if dye lot matters to you, I think if your girls order them through different locations, they all might get different dye lots. I'm not 100% sure though :p

Thanks Ana! The links weren't working though :(  and they dye lot probably will matter to me (even if I say it doesn't now lol) so I may have to have them all get them from the same store. It's so hard when the BM's aren't in town!

Hmmmm...the links didn't work for me when I tried clicking on them again...weird :p Anyway, if you go to nordstrom.com, then click on women then "dress shop" on the left hand side, it'll take you to the page will all different kinds of dresses. I found the girls' dresses in the "bridesmaids" section...most appear to be 50% off right now. I'm not sure the style or color you're looking for, but here are a couple examples...the three are $48 (I got the fourth pic in lilac for $35, but right now they're $53...still a good price and great quality too):

There's a few websites that can guarantee the same dye lot if your order them all at once...like a salon. I've heard that most salons can be much more expensive than sites online because of overhead costs and all that if you decide to go with Alfred Angelo. I've heard netbride is good, I had a great experience with plussizebridal.com (where I got my wedding dress...they have normal sizes too) and houseofbrides.com also seems to get good reviews and they have really good sales from time to time :)

I guess ultimately they would all have to be purchased at the same time to get the same dye lot. I'm sure the salon's will jack up the pricing, especially in Canada. I have got to think of a plan!

I actually really like the one you picked, I really like it for $35 as well!
