Ok, I've just been inspired to do my own bouquets/bouts for the wedding. I know there's a topic on the main forum about it, but I'm wondering how it's done. Is it as simple as purchasing the flowers, arranging them, and wrapping fabric around the stems to hold it together? Or do you use those green flower foam things to hold the stems into place? Kinda lost, need some direction. :-) Any articles would be great!

I took all of my flowers tied them tight tight tight with floral wire. Then used duck tape (white) and typed them tight.  Then, I used foam that you use to wrap pipes in (water pipes i think) and then wrapped ribbon around the foam. They are nice to hold. Since the foam had a hole in the center I could put the stems of the flowers down in there.

I like that idea.  Can you also DIY mother's corsages?  I'm trying to whittle away at costs since we are running a little short as the wedding is getting closer. 

Wow, using pipe foam is a great idea!  I'm not making my own bouquets... but I like the idea :)

I'm heading over to Michael's in a little bit after my lovely dentist appt (UGH) and I will see what I can find there.  I'll keep everyone updated and I will probably be asking a lot of questions.  I am a very craft-minded person but I have never attempted flower creation as of yet. Thanks again!

all I used was flower and ribbon.  and a bit of glue and some pins.

I DIY my bridesmaids bouquets. And will be doing our bouts as well.

We just used floral tape to wrape around the roses and then covered the tape with a beautiful champagne satin ribbon. I have more pictures on my page.

I used a wilton "handle" it has a ball of green foam at the top and then "stems" coming down.  Got them at Joanns ($10, but there's always coupons)...
