Hi ladies!

My wedding date is Aug 17, 2008 and I just found out that my dad will not be able to attend my wedding. He's in rough shape and he is due to have a 'sensitive' type of surgery in late May. The doctor has already said that he will not be able to fly out here from TN to CA for the wedding b/c he'll still be recuperating... (hope I spelled that right)

Somehow I want to make sure that he is included...

I have thought about getting a picture with him and my step-mom but he's VERY insecure about getting his pictures taken (weight issues). I will admit that I am a daddy's girl and I don't feel right not being able to have him here. And the invitations and wording are already set but we are not going to include any parent on the wording.

How could I possibly include them into the wedding or the reception, even in a small way?

Thanks for your help!!!

I have seen these http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=browse&origin=searchMain.jsp&event=link.itemDetails&demandPrefix=12&sku=48/3914&mode=Searching&erec=0&D=photo%2Bcharms&Ntt=photo%2Bcharms&Ntk=all&Dx=mode%252bmatchallpartial&Ntx=mode%252bmatchallpartial&y=0&N=0&x=0&sd=Photo+Charms on bouquets and think it is an adorable way to have one of your loved ones close to you on your special day. I cant remember where I first say these but you can find them at different places! The ladies on here are pretty resourceful......

you could always put the wedding off till your dad is healed...I am sure everyone would understand and he would prob like that very much

I am sorry that you're father is not able to travel to your wedding...

My DH's mom was too frail to make the trip out west, so we sent her flowers on our wedding day (orange mokara orchids, the same that we had in our wedding) and afterwards sent her a MyPublisher Album with our photos right after. Of course we talked to her daily before and after the wedding too and visited her a couple of months after the wedding.

Do like they did on "Say Yes to the Dress" and broadcast the ceremony to him via webcam.

I am a major daddy's girl and i couldnt imagine my wedding without him, so i know where you're coming from. is it possible to move the wedding to him? just send out little cards saying the wedding will now be " ". also, the advice of moving the date is a good possibilty.

If he can't make it and you can't move the date...a televise wedding via webcam.

Good luck!
