Hey ladies!

So since my FI and I are having a ceremony with just the two of us, I obviously want to have a sort of "just married" party afterwards. We've decided on the first week of June (2013) and are thinking about having the party at the end of July.

We'll be having it as his aunt's house in the mountains. She has about 3 acres right on the river, it's so beautiful! I'll be wearing my dress and FI in his suit, but we're doing a kind of make your own sandwhich, meat and cheese trays type of party.

I was thinking a country chic theme would be appropriate.

Anywho, how do I word this on the invitation? I want to try and reflect the "style" of the party so people know how to dress, but I can't decide if that should go on the invitation or on the website that I'll be making.

Thanks girls!

That party sounds adorable, Hals!!

I just did my AHR invites. I wrote:

To celebrate their recent marriage in
Key West, FL
The new Mr. & Mrs.

[our names]

invite you to a casual reception
full of love, laughter, & happily ever after!

Thanks Jess! :) Did you wear your dress?

Ours is next month. I am thinking I will wear it for a little bit and then switch into the dress I wore for our welcome party. I wasn't going to wear the dress, but I've decided I must wear it, if only for a little bit!

It's totally required! I've already had a bunch of people ask me to wear my gown, so I suppose I shall sacrifice it. I'll probably get a shorter dress, too to change into.

haha! And how fun will it be to wear it twice!?

I think that what missjess485 wrote is perfect!

Yep, love missjess's wording!

Your other option could be to wear your party dress and then change into your wedding dress briefly for a dance, cake cutting, toast, etc as a surprise :-) Then people might feel like they still get a chance to share in some of the wedding traditions, even if it is in a more relaxed environment.
