I fly to Guam next Sunday. Exactly one week. We get married the following week. The base lodge is fully booked. They wouldn't let us make an advanced reservation and when FI returned on the requested date they were like "sorry, we are sold out
with a group until the end of the month". The hotels are so expensive and far from FI. So if he does not get approval for me to stay with him I may have to stay with a couple he is close to, but with whom I don't feel quite comfortable yet. I will
definitely have to stay with them for the 3 days before the wedding, and even rely on them for transportation at times.
I am also wigging out because there is always that risk that after we marry I still don't get OCONUS, or approved for Command Sponsorship. I will have all the papers I think I need in tow. I don't think any of my medical conditions (like
mild asthma) will be enough to deny me. But I guess because I am getting so close to the date I am feeling panic coming on. What if I have to come back?!?
It was the Naval Chaplain that convinced us the best option was for me to go to Guam to marry FI, instead of him coming home. It just is coming home to me now that there is still a level of uncertainty until everything goes through. I guess I am
just wigging out.
