I am new here and need help please?

Hello everyone,
I just recently got engaged and I have been looking at alot of bridal things, wedding stuff etc.
Does anyone know some really good places on the internet where I can find wedding veil pictures with different hair styles?
I am not sure when the wedding is at this time, but I would like to start doing details since that is what my fiance' and I both want.
I don't know where I can go to order bridal catalogs that can be mailed to me, or invitation catalogs. Does anyone know?
I have been married twice before, but never had a wedding. I always ran to some place like Reno or the County Recorders Office to get married. I never had a wedding dress, never had a wedding ring or engagement ring, never had a honeymoon, didn't have anything.
So with this marriage I want to do everything right. I want everything to be so perfect.
I also have a question. being the fact that I have never had a wedding dress or anything that a wedding would consist of, what color would be appropriate for the gown? White or Ivory or Beige? I really don't know and all advice is really needed and appreciated.

You can wear whatever you want - color too! You can even wear a white dress with a pattern on it!
Magazines are a good place to start - they are catalogs really. Also the forums, bios and photos uploaded here are also very very helpful. Check under the hairstyles here to see veils with different do's. Also try googling different veil shops online, they will have some pictures with different hairstyles I'm sure. Magazines, again will have tons of pictures too!

Champ is right. Magazines are a big help. Brides, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride just to name a few.

As for the dress, wear whatever makes you happy. You have so many options. Go to a salon and start trying on different styles and colors of dresses.

I am sort of in your same shoes. My husband and I were married only at the county courthouse and now we are having a "real" wedding and doing it right.

Thank you also for the advice on what to wear and such, I will look those things up. I tried some places, but it just isn't what I wanted. Thank you Champagne for the addresses of those blogs, I will check them out and see what I can find.

Also I was wondering, wouldn't people look down on me for wearing white? I mean my fiance and I both have children already from previous marriage.
I just don't know.
I thought about getting a white gown and getting a colored sash to put around the waist just to give it a little pizzazze.
I don't know, anyone have suggestions? I will continue looking.

Why should people look down on you??? I've never been married before, but I have a 13 year old daugther from a previous relationship...and my husband HAS been married before and he also has children from his previos marriage. I bought MY dream dress, and we had a magical and super romantic wedding in New York this Christmas. We did it OUR way - and loved it :)

Remember to do what YOU want for your big day, and try not to worry about what everyone else wants and thinks... it's YOUR day :) Congrats!

Wear whatever color dress you like, it helps to flip threw some mags or check out photos on the internet for inspiration. Try on a few colors and styles to get an idea of what looks good with your body type and skin tone. Don't be afraid to be daring, brides are breaking away from traditions or putting their own spin on them more and more. I don't remember who it is, but I saw one girl on this site that is planning on wearing a red dress and her bridesmaids are wearing white. I wore wine colored shoes with my antique white dress and everyone loved them. If you have the time, I have TONS of photos saved and uploaded in the photo section of my bio, a few pics with veils too. Check my hair section (I have some pics with veils in there) as well as my tagged "veil" section, towards the bottom left.

Planning a wedding can be really overwhelming at first, but take a deep breath, things will start falling into place =o).Oh and welcome to project wedding =o)

I agree...wear whatever you want to wear....If you go to a bridal salon, they usually have a couple of dresses in other colors I was at mine the other day and saw a rose colored dress as well as a bright red dress....Its your wedding...and you cant do it wrong.

I also think Champagne colored dresses look lovely on every skin tone....even pasty white skin like mine...

Nadtya...these days a bride can wear whatever color she wants no matter if she has never been married and has no kids or if she has been married a few times and has many kids.

Wear whatever makes YOU happy. Don't worry about anyone else, because when you come walking down the aisle, all anyone will see is a beautiful bride.
