I finally found it! I spent minimal time looking in a couple of stores (while searching for other dresses albeit) and hours online trying to narrow it down but I finally found it and put the down payment! I went to a wedding store that covers
everything (literaly everything) to buy some bobonnierres (thank you gifts) for my engagement party. I found them and actually found matching ones for my bridal shower and wedding so I got it all done at once and by the end my guests will have a
complete set. ANYWAY; the ladies in the store kept nudging me toward the wedding dresses and the owner kept saying "I have the perfect one for you! Come try it on!" so with 4 women teasing me with a room full of gorgeous Italian dresses I gave in lol.
Anyway, I walked in and saw a dress on a mannequin and thought OMG I want that but I probably won't even be able to fit into the sample, so I was ready to try on some gaudy, white dress that would fit my plus size frame. The owner turned to me and was
like "Thats the one I have for you and in your size to try on!" so I freaked internally with joy.
I almsot cried when the woman was lacing up the corset in the fitting room. It had a mirror but I guess the stud holding it came loose so it was leaned up against the wall and was lower so all I could see was from my bust down. I kept seeing my
engagement ring up against all the white lace and beading and before I could even see the whole thing I knew it was it. I kept flitting around the bridal salon so I could watch the train trail behind me in the mirror lol, I think I embarassed my mom
and bit but the ladies and I enjoyed it lol. The only problem is that I feel totally guilty about the price tag (which we did not check before I put it on...oops). My mom bought my sister her wedding dress 5 years ago which then was $1500, but
mine? Regularly $4000.00, but because we know the women they gave us an amazing deal of $2800 for everything. I could chalk it up to inflation but seriously, after all my mom is doing for me, and especially the restoration of my dads antique car for me
to ride to church in (see bio lol), it's all too much and I'm super grateful.
In any case, my gorgeous dress is an A-Line ivory lace gown with pearls and beading sewn all over the bodice and tulle skirt overlay. The picture does NOT do the train justice; and I'm getting a cathedral length veil with custom matching lace to
go with it! I'm dying because I'm so excited. I want to make it my screen saver. I want to wear a picture of it on my t-shirt lol. Is it bad I just want my day to come so I can wear the dress?! haha. It'll be 8 months until I see my dress because
it's being made in Milan but omg I want it now lol.
