Trying to Conceive

I had that "moment"

Yesterday I was discussing with my sister how it might take a while for DH and I to get our BFP because my cycles on average are 36/37 days which means my fertile windows happen a lot less than the average woman on a 28 day cycle. I'm still trying to stay positive about this because it's not impossible we just have to be sure to BD during those windows.

Then yesterday afternoon, my friend tells me that he and his gf are pregnant (accidentally) and I'm uber excited and happy for them and yet internally I got stupidly selfish for a moment. Following the discussion with my sister it just made it hard to swallow *sigh*. That is all...thank you as always for listening ladies.

Oh hunny, you're not alone in that feeling.  We've all had that.  Chin up!  *Hugs*

I think we ALL know I have been there!  In fact, I was so bummed a few weeks ago that I was having trouble sleeping and was just really in a funk.  In all my spare time in the middle of the night, I started reading through old threads on this board.  You know what?  Everyone eventually got their BFP - I mean everyone.  I don't think I saw one girl who didn't.  There were some who had it easier and plenty who had it hard and went through a lot to get their BFP, but they got there.  It was sad to read some of the stories, but it actually gave me a ton of hope.  Like Kristen said, you're time will come! Just keep your head up and know that the green eyed monster will pop out from time to time, but those moments pass.

Thanks ladies. It helped just to vent and get it out there to get past it but you gals def made me smile and help get back to the positive side. That is so awesome to hear MNM - I am sure we all will get our BFP's it's just a matter of time. :)

In the meantime, DH will just have to suffer from BD'ing! LOL ;) And I'm going to pick up some B6 as well.

I'm so lame that I didn't go to the Baby Shower I was supposed to this weekend... I knew I couldn't do it and I did NOT want to take any focus off the mommy of the party.... I'm freakin' 35 years old - you would think I could be a grown up =(

Aw, Ashley :-(  I'm sorry, and ditto -- it is getting harder for me to not let my personal feelings creep into those kinds of situations, too. It has to be completely normal to feel this way. {HUGS}

And P.S. - LOVE Laurie's note about everyone getting their BFP eventually! :-)

I love Laurie's post as well. :)

My cycle is 36 days as well, so like you I was naturally nervous that I had a cycle that was going to give me "less of a chance".  Me being me, I did the math.  The average women with a 28 day cycle has 13 chances to concieve in a year and a women with a cycle like ours has 10.  It's a difference, but not a super major one.

Besides, it's not about the frequency of your cycle but about well-timed BDing.  We got our BFP a few months ago.  It WILL happen for you, girl!

xo. :)

I have to say, ditto the other ladies!  I totally feel ya - it's so hard to try and not get emotional and slightly "jealous" over it but your time will come - just stay positive.
