@Santosha - Thank you. :)
@IdoAgain20- We lost everything that was in our basement level apartment due to ground water flooding that happened after the hurricane but it was caused from the hurricane. Our renter's insurance policy doesn't cover ground water flooding
so we were out of luck there. I have been replacing things but it is a slow go sometimes due to the economy so that has been really frustrating to me at times. I feel foolish when I feel that way though and I keep focusing on the bright side.
We stayed with family during the storm and I took all of the photo albums with me in a giant plastic tub. I am so thankful that I did!!! I know how precious pictures can be. You must have been heartbroken to loose them. :(
I have been stalking craigslist and freecycle and garage sales like a crazy woman! And I've been blessed to find some great things! :)
I got two dressers for free. They were a little shabby but some white paint perked them up a lot. We replaced our clothes and toys for the kids. We bought a tv that was on clearance. It was not a priority to me but the price was too good
to let it pass. My mom found us a kitchen table at a garage sale for free! It was really late in the day and the owner just wanted to get rid of it. I'm going to paint the chairs when the weather warms up because they could use some TLC but we
really are doing pretty well in replacing things. They are not the same quality things that we had originally but heck they're just stuff. :)
Some people are so very bad off right now. I could cry just thinking about it. My family is part of the luckier crowd. We don't have to stay in a house that is mold infested or sleep in shelters. I truly appreciate your very generous
offer! That is very sweet and kind of you! We are re-building our home and filling our lives with the things that make us comfortable and happy and we're getting there. It's not happening overnight but it's still happening! :)
