Hey ladies! I haven't been on here in a while but my husband and I are sort of TTC right now (not trying to prevent it at least lol) bc my thyroid issues have been ironed out (for the most part). (Yay!) Anyway, I just wanted to
share a happy story that I find so encouraging!
I have a friend who has been married for 6 or 7 years now. They've pretty much been TTC since they got married. She has a hard time getting pregnant, but it did happen for her 3 times, all of which she miscarried. (the first
time was so early that the dr said it may have just been a false positive?) The other two times happened at 7 weeks--her baby never developed a heartbeat either time. As you all know, this was extremely difficult for her and our friendship
grew stronger bc she had a hard time hanging out with her girlfriends who had children. (I do not have children) She never held back telling me all the thoughts that went through her head and everything she felt--bitterness, anger,
resentment, sadness, depression. She wanted to have a child more than anyone else I think I've ever known. Anyway, she and her husband moved to Alaska (he's in the Air Force). She adopted a whole new mind set--started
thinking more positively, started eating healthier and exercising, etc. And most importantly, they found a really good doctor. They've been up there for about a year and she is now 12 weeks pregnant!!! When I look at the ultrasound
pictures I just start crying bc I know how much pain she's been through and I know how badly she's wanted this. They've heard the baby's heartbeat two or three times now (163 bpm most recently) and they are thrilled, as you can imagine. I
find their story so inspiring and like I said, I couldn't be more happy for them. My only regret is that I live so far away and can't throw her a shower. :)
