So Me and the DH have been talking, I really am considering joining the Air Force. We are going to talk to a recruiter this week. We will see how it goes! Any one else considered it before? Being a military wife has made it a lot LESS intimidating then before I knew anything about the military.

Woo hoo!  that's awesome!  You go girl!!!  And the AF tries to keep spouses together, so hopefully you wouldn't have to be apart too much!!!  Is your husband an officer?  I can't remember...

I considered joining the AF a few years back, but when I went to talk to a recruiter they basically told me there were no guarentees in being stationed near your husband. I've already spent 4 years away from him with school, and personally I didn't want to risk being stationed away from him after that. I still occasionally think about it (because I want to be a flight nurse), but who knows what will happen. Let me know what you find out!!!

Me!!!

I am going in the Army in Feb (2 weeks after the wedding). I am going to be JAG, and I am super excited about it. It is such a great opportunity and I feel really lucky to have been offered a position (it is pretty selective). For me, there were just so many positives to doing it- experience, opportunity, tons of career options, and, of course, being able to have a career as a lawyer and a military spouse was not going to really work otherwise!

GL- it is a really big decision, so take your time, weigh your options. If you ever need to talk/vent, I am here for you!

I was in the AF let me know if you have any questions it's been a few years and i got out for medical reasons but I can probly answer some questions. GL and it's true they try to keep husbands and wives as close together if not together as much as possible. YAY! for you just make sure you think things through thoroughly before you sign anything.

Awesome! Are you already a lawyer or do you still need to do law school? I hear AF JAG is great- that is the one everyone talks about doing (esp because minimal deployments compared to Army and Navy). Just let me know if you have questions

if you do decide to join I can tell you all about Basic it's changed some but probably not much in the last few years.

If you can go commissioned, please try.  It's a bit harder to go noncommissioned to commissioned b/c its like a competition.  Same as hurley let me know if you have questions, I was AD for 4 years and I am an AF reservist.
