Help!

Ok, so I thought it had been decided that one of my mom's girlfriends was going to be our DOC (day of coordinator) and now, I just found out last night that she isn't going to do it! I know our wedding is still 4 months aways, but our wedding is only 4 months away! :S

Our venue requires that we have a DOC. So I had a mini meltdown last night because I wasn't anticipating this expense. How much do they cost? Im afraid to find out...

Does anyone one have any recommendations for a DOC for the Napa/Sonoma area or has anyone here been a DOC and wants to be mine?

Any suggestions are helpful...thanks gals!!!

I highly recommend my wedding coordinator, who I'm using for day-of coordination plus some extra help getting inspiration before the big day: Crystal Lequang of Amazae Special Events in San Jose. I'm pretty sure she does Napa/Sonoma weddings, even though she is based in the South Bay. She is extremely organized, professional, and is full of great knowledge and creative ideas. I'm very confident that I will be able to enjoy my wedding because she does not mess around and will whip everyone into shape! Here's her website:

I believe her packages start around $1800 for day-of coordination.

I have seen a wide range of prices, typically $500- 1500. You can get them to come down on price if there are a few things you don't need them to do. For example, I don't need coordination at the Chapel, only at the reception- so she took like $200 off, etc. Just ask around and get some quotes. I'm noticing most "DOC" really are "month of" and also help you through phone/ emails anytime- I think this is very helpful as well...

I've hired A Beautiful Affair Events, found her reviews on this site. There are so many of them out there! GL!

Hey Ash...based on my research, DOC's cost around 1,000-1500---So expensive!! You may be able to find someone for cheaper by negotiating their cost---I don't think people are hiring coordinators as much as they used to, given the economy, so who's unfortunately hurting for business may be more apt to negotiate her price. I think my planner charges around $1k but you may be able to get her to come down in price. She's FABULOUS!! Let me know if you'd like her info.
The only experience I have is planning my own wedding, but if you'd like to save the $$, I'd be happy to help you out :)

P.S. You might try Bellissima Vita (http://www.bvweddings.com/services.php) as well - she puts on a very good bridal fair, and her day-of coordination services are $800. Her blog is a good place for inspiration!

I'm using Kristen Jensen of www.sugarrushevents.com She's based in the East Bay, but I know she does Destination weddings so she'd probably travel to napa/sonoma. I'm doing a partial package with her so I don't know what her DOC fees are, but she's super sweet, is fast at getting back to you, and does not pressure you.
