JDweddingDay, I emailed Bellissima Vita (so far she looked the most like my style) and unfortunately...she's already booked. :(

Awww - I'm sorry to hear that. Did she have any recs for other DOCs? You might also ask your other vendors who they like to work with. I got my DOC as a rec from my florist, who has worked with her many times before - they make a great team, and really go the extra mile because they enjoy working together and brainstorming together.

What about Lori? She is in the SF area I believe and she specializes in reasonably priced DOC and she's a pw.com'er

Kohler,
We are in the Bay Area and we are using Ann Saavedra of Dreamcatcher Events. http://www.dreamcatcherevents.com/
The wedding is coming up on May 31, but so far she has been fantastic. We started working with her in late April. She is a former interior designer and she was recommended to us by another wedding planner, a friend of my future MIL.

Im still checking around...thinking about everything. FI isn't really keen on the whole idea so its going to take a little convincing. I'll keep you posted and thank you girls so much for all the help, it will all probably end up in a spreadsheet knowing me, ha! ;)

Kohler - DH was iffy on hiring a DOC. But when we met our planner he was sold and very happy he agreed to hire one. Our planner took care of everything on our wedding day. We didn't have to lift a finger...from touch up to getting water and making sure everything run smoothly. I hope you can convince your FI.

Good luck and happy planning!!!

Hi Kohler

My wedding was planned for Sonoma and I contacted 5 coordinators. I met with 2 including Lor Decter and Lisa of BV. I did chose Lori (after her big announcement, we all know she isn't wedding planning any longer)

I don't want to post my feedback/reviews of all that I contacted because most were negative experiences.
Also I don't really have a suggestion of who to contact now that Lori isn't available - but if you want to know who I was in touch why and why I don't recommend them, please feel free to PM me.

as for convincing the FI; if you are required by the venue to have one; then it's not really a debate, is it?!

Well...yes and no, we can still have a friend do it as long as we have someone elected to be the DOC, it is not mandatory that they are a "professional coordinator" so Im more having to convince him that we may need a professional and he doesn't like the cost associated with that, ha ha.

I have looked into several, so Im curious about your thoughts. I'll PM ya ;)
