if you try craigslist, make sure they shoot in HD though, many of those vendors do not. What area are you looking for??

San Francisco area. I tried craigslist, I wasn't happy with the quality I find. I found one guy that will do it for $800, but the sample he sent me was very blurry.

tobemrsT-- this has been what I've been researching the past couple days.  for a good style quality anywhere close to lorimer works (the clip you posted) the min  usually starts around 2000.  now for a more traditional style videographer, they start around 1200---big difference.  this is b/c the editing does not take as much time, etc.

so what i needed to decide is what i wanted.... i want the whole day covered but there are options to get the cost down.  like you can only have one cameraman, you can minimize the hours they are there (like only 5 or 6 hours), or you can chose a more traditional style.

when is your wedding?  b/c some also offer off-season discounts between November and March.

These are ones I've found so far--

These are base prices.. if you have less or more they cost changes.

More traditional mixed with some cinematic editing
c3 Videography--1595 for two shooters, 8 hours
Bay Area VDO--1999, 8 hrs, 2 cameras 1 manned 1 unmanned

Cinematic editing
Blue Moon Productions--2495, 7 hrs, 2 cameras (ceremony only) 1 camers reception,   HD extra charge
Lumitone--2999, 8 hrs, 2 shooters
IQ Videography--3599, 8 hrs, 2 cameras ceremony, 1 camera reception
Lorimerworks--3900 8 hrs, 2 camera
Axiom Videography--2500 7 hrs, 1 camera

PM if you'd like any of their price lists

Other things to consider... so you want them there for bride prep, how many dvd's do you want, do you want HD, do you want a short 3-4 min highlight of your day.  These things are often times an extra charge, so it's a way to minimize to if you can live without..

if you really can't afford anything like this...the cheapest i've found is Joshua Burgin for $1000.  it's a straight forward documentation, no real editing. so that's your decision.
