I Need To Vent!!

Ugh... I'm so pissed... again! Seems that this week, every night something pops up to make me more stressed and mad.

Ok, so tonight I decided to send emails to each person on the list who got a wedding invitation. I asked everyone to respond by June 20 and out of 150 invites, I've gotten maybe 20. Anyway, I also emailed each groomsman and bridesmaid to see if they were bringing a date with them also; I just want to be sure to have enough food.

One of the groomsmen tells me that he didn't think he'd get off to come and start giving me excuses. He then suggests we find a replacement to cover him. He even had the nerve to ask if we had a replacement... well, no! I don't have replacements lined up to fill in for the bridal party if someone decides not to show up. It's a good thing I emailed him, otherwise I wouldn't have known that he didn't plan on showing up to the wedding.

Our wedding is July 19th, a little over a month away and he knew a good 6 months ago when our day was. Why commit if you knew you couldn't do it? Also, why not request off when you know you neede that day of to begin with? I just told him not to worry about being at the wedding, that I would figure something out; I don't want to be in a bind having to pay for a tux he doesn't pick up.

So here I am, one month before the wedding trying to find someone to cover at the last minute, I'm totally pissed. I do not understand why someone would say their honored to be a part of your wedding, then have no intentions of coming, much less telling you they can't make it.

Anyone else going through this too???

Hey Jen, I am sooo sorry, I really don't know what is wrong with people sometimes! I have run into some issues with my family about not being able to commit, but no one in the wedding party, thankfully!

I don't know if you want to match the number for bridesmaids and groomsmen, but some of my friends did uneven numbers, and they had one groomsmen escort two girls back down the aisle or visa versa. Just a thought, since I know you are under a ton of stress, but don't feel like you have to replace a flaky person if you don't have the time, energy or patience to do so! Best of luck!

Aww thanks Aimee, I'm going to ask one of my guy friends from elementary school, and if he declines we'll have the extra bridesmaid escort the flower girl. (I have 6 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen as of right now).

I don't get why people are so unreliable lately.

Jen I know exactly what you're going through I had the same thing happen to me with my BM - 2 of them were flaky on and off.  SO I assumes one wouldn't make it then both said they couldn't.  One of them moved to NY to go to law school and the other moved to Chicago b/c of her bf.  The one in Chicago was complaining about dress prices but when she found out they were only $140 she said it was fine and came thoguh at the last minute.  I was really freaking out b/c I would have had an extra groomsmam!!!  The one in NY flaked out and didn't even cll me - she joined some political club and has an even that she's in charge of on my wedding day-so lame.  I was really upset!  Too much drama.  So don't feel bad it will work out int he end but I know how stressful it is.  Hang in there!  **Hugz**

Hang in there Jen....I can imagine your frustration.  I can't people are so, 'oh yeah, by the way, i probably can't make it' as if they're talking about going to a happy hour or something - umm....this is a wedding!!
