but I can't decide where I want to put all the tattoos I want and which to get first. I am a tattoo virgin so I over think everything. Placement to me is very important and I don't want to put something in the wrong place and regret it later or wish I would have put something else there. Did any of you go thru that before you got your first tattoo or am I just a freak?? lol 

Truthfully I think it's a very personal decision. Mine I have been careful about the placement due to job situations. I personally love tattoos and wish there wasn't such a hold up in certain business fields but I understand the "look" of professionalism. Just really think about it and go with your gut! I don't regret any of mine.... I hope you can figure it out =)

It took me almost 2 years once I decided I wanted one to decide firmly on where and what :)

i have one on my lower back/side and one on my foot, so they're both hidden or can be shown if i want them to. You do have to be careful about placement and what you get because they are (mostly) forever.  I thought about my first tattoo for 2 years, mostly because I was 2 years underage to get one, and then i thought about my second one for a year after that.

its normal to stress over it, and chances are, later on in life, if you get a lot more tattoos, that you WILL wish that you had that space for something else. But you really just have to find something and commit to it, if you find it asthetically pleasing now, you will probably love it just as much later on down the road.

As far as thoughts on specific placement, think about your career, you probably want to place your tattoo in an area that will be covered by a t-shirt, no hands, wrists, neck or forearm tattoos unless you are certain that it will not inhibit your career path. I did not get ANY tattoos in these areas until I started tattooing professionally. Although tattoos have become more acceptable, you WILL be faced with the judgement of other people in some situations, like finding a job or renting an apartment. DO NOT assume that just because you are well spoken and have a stellar credit history that having visible tattoos will not affect your life. (I thought that once, but have since learned that lesson! lol)

A tip though, if you plan on getting more tattoos in the future, don't put a small tattoo on a large area, it'll just look like it's floating there, tattoos look MUCH better on at least a bit of a larger scale so it FLOWS with your body.

ALWAYS Find an artist you feel like you can trust, look carefully at a lot of portfolios before choosing an artist, and remember, the quality of your tattoo will NOT be any better than any of the stark examples in an artists portfolio. Look for CLEAN lines and saturated color in photos of HEALED tattoos in the artists portfolio.

i got my first one on my lower right calf. i think its a great place for a first tattoo first cuz it doesn't hurt very much there and second you can either wear shorts or a shorter skirt and show it off or you can wear pants and cover it up for work etc. my second one i put on my lower left arm that one i didn't care if people saw i actually wanted them too it had religious meaning to me

i had always wanted a tattoo , i knew what i wanted , but i waited 5 years before getting it, now i want my second an i got inspired for it 6 yrs ago an im just now looking for the right artist to do it lol

i like to sit on things, since they are so permnant i dont want to regret it

i have one in the traditional lower back area, and my second one is going to be lilys going up my side, how i dont want the traditional black out line that most tattoos have so thats harder apparently not everyone well free hand it

My first tattoo is on my lower back left hip A dove with a heart. I got it in 2009 and I love it!
