Our RSVP date is August 5th...so far we've only received about 50 response cards back. We're still waiting on about 150...why do I have a feeling that even though I include the response card and the postage, I'll still need to call people?

you both have my date and I just sent mine out on Tues. I'm so behind :( I don't even want to think about not receiving the RSVP's since I need to make that correction card now :(  stressed just thinking about it.

I need to make a correction direction card. I switched my North and South on the ceremony location and the reception location. DUH! LOL. You're not behind, you're still within the 6-8 week time frame. I sent my out early since FI's family is all east coasters (wedding's in Illinois) and I wanted to make sure they had enough advanced notice.

You're definitely going to have to call people, b/c some people just won't send it back for whatever reason. My RSVP date was 7/11/08 and I'm still waiting on 4 or 5 people to finalize my guest count, so don't stress, it just happens.

i know how you feel.

our wedding has already passed but during the time i was waiting for responses i got sooo antsy. anyway.. we sent out about hmm.. 80 invites.. and only got about half the responses back. we literally had to call everyone that didnt respond back. makes me soo mad cuz cmon all u gotta do is mark yey or ney.. slip it in the envelope and send it out cuz it already has a stamp! sheesh!

i hope your guests arent as lazy ours were. hahahhaah

I'm dreading that. We don't have to send our invites until next year but I have a feeling that we will receive the RSVPs late. I also have this icky feeling that not a lot of people will come. Maybe it's because most of my guests are from OOT.

I had a TON of people not respond.  I had family & BM's call some people, and some I called myself.  You'll also find a lot of people will let you know if they're coming or not in passing.  It's just the way it is I'm afraid  :(

As surprising as it is to us brides, many people don't realize the reason/purpose for the rsvp's.  If they themselves have not planned a wedding or large event, they don't grasp the process.

I'm in the same boat as some of you ladies...I sent invites about on July 7th.  I've received a little under 1/2 back and I've asked for a response by Aug. 1st.  I know I'll be calling.  I've already let my mom and FMIL know that I'll be asking for their help with their friends and "distant" relatives.  When calling, you only need to say that you need to know whether or not to reserve a seat for them and to ensure there is enough food.
