Ideas on DIY Arch Decor. for Ceremony

My FI and I are going to see some rental places for an Arch we want to use during the ceremony. I would like to do the decor. myself. I just wanted to see if you girls had any ideas on DIY decor for ceremony arches, or if you had other ideas of what we could do for the ceremony (canopy, columns????)

how big is the space wher you wanna have the free-standing canopy/arch/columns???

i'm guessing if you go with canopy - you (or you fh or dad) can make the "frame" out of pvc pipe and just spray paint?? then go downtown and buy really lighweisght sheer fabric to drape???

i think floral arches are pretty when done right - in an outdoor setting - how much $$$ do you want to spend sprucing it up???

columns are great too to define that space!!  when i lived in la - there was this guy on labrea and san vicente who sold plaster columns for $5 each!!! the looked like these - i bought some for my apartment... aaahhh memories.. ahem back to you..

you could buy taller ones and then place 2 large floral arrangements????

other ideas:

Dirty..I love the picture of the canopy with the flowers going from bottom to top on all four sides and they lighting looks great. I am planning on spending a few hundred dollars. The space is pretty big. I think I need to go to downtown and look from some sheer drapery! and about those columns, I need to get myself down there and see if that guy is still there.

You can make a simple arch out of wood or buy one pre-made one at a garden supply store.  Here are a few more ideas to decorate it with.

Holy crap! Great pictures girls!  I really wish I could have one :(

2GRoses.com sells green garland, fresh... you can start with this and then wire flower buds ont it to make a really pretty fresh flower drape.
