Illustrator help needed

Hello ladies. I need some help designing my business logo and was hoping one of you could help me out.

I want to make a damask, Pretty much I want the logo to have a lot of soft swirly lines. I don't even know if something like this can be done in Adobe illustrator, but if it can, I would love to learn how. Any information would be helpful.

You probably just need to download a vector. If you Google free vector, or free swirly vector, you should get a lot of good options. Or there's also istockphoto.com if you don't feel like searching for a long time and would rather buy.

You can also learn to create your own vector. That also takes a little bit of time, but that way you get exactly what you want while learning a fun new trick.

sounds interesting, I've been trying to do this using the pen tool, but I have a feeling it's going to take a looong time to figure out how to manipulate it to do what I want. What is a vector and how do I make one? lol . I'm going to google it now.

this is perfect, thanks so much moe =o) I'm just getting into computer art, it's a far cry from painting and sculpture =oP I had some stuff drawn on paper, but I think I can get close using these vector things.

Downloading your own vector image will be the easiest way to get the job done. If you don't find what you're looking for, you can load a .jpg of the damask you want into Illustrator and do one of two things: One would be using the Live Trace tool (I think this is only in Illustrator CS2 or higher), but if the image isn't great resolution, you'll could lose a lot of detail. The other option is to trace over the .jpg with the pen tool. It could take a long time varying on the detail of the damask and your abilities with the pen tool.

I found a program that everyone seems to love, but it's for cs2+ I have illustrator 10 =oP. I think getting an updated version and adding these vector brushes would be perfect....now I just have to get the updated version... thank you for the offer, I'll keep you in mind if I you =o)
