Hey ladies- I have noticed that there are lots of members in this group who we haven't 'met.' Please take a moment to introduce yourself and give a little bit of info (it doesn't have to be military or wedding related!)

Hi! I am MH. I strated this little groups in hopes that we military brides would have a place to go to vent, to get support and to share ideas. I am completely inspired by each of you, your FIs/DHs, and your strength and dedication.

I live in FL right now. FI is in the Army and is currently in Iraq. He will be coming home soon though, thank goodness. We are getting married in just a few months. I am a lawyer, but I am waiting to start training in Feb.

Can't wait to 'meet' the rest of you :)

OK, here's my bio.  I met my FI in Seattle in a little over 7 years ago.  He was an ensign then, and he's a Lt now... that makes it seem like a longer time to me than 7 years! ;)  A few months after we started dating, his ship got sent on a last minute 4 month trip to Antarctica... that was my "well, this is what I'm in for" warning I guess! He's been stationed in Michigan, Rhode Island, and Virginia since then.  We're waiting for his next assignment, which I seriously hope is someplace on the east coast (all our family is in MA/NJ/NY) or Seattle (most of our friends live here).  I'm in NJ right now, because that's where my family & my current job are (I'm a software engineer).  

Even though we've been together for a really long time, we hadn't really discussed marriage very much. So he invited me down the first weekend of October to go to Virginia Beach and have a nice beach vacation, like we've done on previous Octobers.  Our first night out there, we went to a restaurant we've gone to before, right on the beach, and he proposed at the end of the meal. I was pretty much so surprised that he had to repeat the question before I could get myself together enough to answer.  :-D  So.  

We have a very good friend who's retired now, but was the Masterchief on the ship my FI was on when we met, who we'd gone to visit in Maryland this August.  Apparently the whole proposal plan was worked out then. Ha... his wife and I had hung out on beach, letting the boys "talk ship" but apparently they were really secretly planning the proposal. Anyway, you can be sure he's going to be at least be giving a toast at our wedding!

My husband and I live in Oklahoma City right now but will be hearing where we're going next very soon.  It will probably be either Germany or Alaska!

Hey, all!  

My name is Sara.  I met my FH, in Okinawa in the summer of 2007.  He's a Lt in the Marine Corps and I'm a special education teacher.  I was doing a summer internship there.  I went back in the summer of 2008.  We were friends the whole time, but didn't start dating until about 4 months before he came back stateside.  

He's currently in San Diego & preparing for deployment.  So, we'll be planning our wedding through a deployment.  Luckily, I'm moving to San Diego after this school year, so we'll finally be in the same place at the same time for longer than a summer.  

We'll be in San Diego for a year after the wedding (summer 2011).  Then, who knows after that.

I'm glad to have a place to talk to people where people actually understand what I'm going through!  It's nice to meet all of you!

My name is Amelia. I met FI through a mutual friend in 2006, he was stationed in North Carolina and I live in  FL. He left for deployment  a month after meeting and we lost touch. About a month after he got home from deployment hemessaged me on myspace concerning the friend that introduced us. I gave him my number and told him to call me, he called me that day and we talked for 10 hours nonstop. We started dating not long after that.

We currently live in New Hampshire while FI finishes his asignment as a recruiter in Lowell, MA. I'm a full time student and work part time at a veterinary office. It's definitely nice to be able to plan our wedding together, well for me to plan our wedding together.

I'm Patty, I'm a california bride living in florida with mi Fi deployed in Iraq. I have 4 or so months left till the big day.

Fi will be out of the army by our wedding day so we won't have a military wedding. But the army has had a big part of our lives...after waiting for him for 2 deployments we are never going be be seperated. No one gets army brides--only another army bride, I'm glad I'm here.

HI! I am Meg! We were married on Oct 10th 2009 in Lake Mills, Wi (my hometown) I am an Air Force Wife! We met while he was stationed in San Antonio and I was Attending college, we are now in Maryland at Andrews AFB he teached Aerospace Physiology and i attend school! Nice to Meet you ladies!

Hey everybody!  I'm Amanda.  My DH is Curt.  Curt was in the Navy for 4 years.  He got out about 6 months or so after we started dating.  He was out for a couple years, and then joined the Air Guard.  We aren't near an active base, but have an Air Guard base and a "closed" Army base that is was closed for everything except Army Reserveactivities a few years ago, so we have a lot of Guard/Reserve members here.  DH was deployed right after we met, but hasn't been since.  We aren't sure when his unit will be deployed, but think it might be some time next year.  :(  Not great timing since we are trying to have a baby.
